Natural enhancement of lips in Hamburg
What does Lip augmentation mean?
Full, sensual and curved lips are considered by many people to be particularly aesthetic. However, lips can also be quite narrow and straight by nature. This can make the facial expression look grim or grumpy. During lip correction with augmentation, hyaluronic acid is injected into the appropriate area to build up volume or to adjust the shape of the lips so that they harmonise with the other facial features. In our practice in Hamburg, we place special emphasis on achieving a natural looking result that emphasises your individual beauty.
For whom is lip fillers suitable?
Lip correction with hyaluronic acid is suitable for all women and men who want fuller lips or want to slightly correct the shape of their lips. Even though injection therapy is a very low-risk and comparatively gentle procedure, it is not performed on underage patients. It is also important that the patient has realistic expectations of the lip augmentation. For this reason, a detailed consultation on the possibilities offered by lip augmentation is particularly important to us.
Objective of a lip augmentation with dermal filler
Through lip correction we would like to help you achieve aesthetic and natural looking lips. Our aim is to make you feel completely comfortable and attractive. We avoid overcorrection by using only small amounts of hyaluronic acid for lip augmentation. The result of the treatment is usually immediately visible. Minor swelling or redness can remain for up to three days before it has completely subsided. Once the possible complaints have healed, the lips appear more defined, fuller and more sensual.
Who should not get lip fillers?
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Minority
- Inflammations on the lip
- Allergies/intolerances to the active substances used
- Unrealistic expectations of the result
- False motivation (including external pressure, fashionable trend)
- Known diseases that preclude treatment
Preparation for the lip correction: the personal consultation
A special preparation for lip treatment with hyaluronic acid is usually not necessary. You should only stop taking medication and products that can affect blood clotting (e.g. Aspirin®) about five to seven days before the lip correction. This reduces the risk of bruising.
The important basis of lip augmentation is the personal consultation. Peter Tuguntke is specialised in the minimally invasive treatment methods of aesthetic medicine. He will examine your concerns individually and will honestly inform you about the possibilities, the course of treatment and possible risks. For a natural and aesthetic result, he adapts the lip augmentation to your specific requirements and wishes.
Procedure of lip augmentation with dermal fillers
Lip correction in Hamburg is an outpatient, non-surgical procedure that does not require anaesthesia. As the lips are often very sensitive, the experienced expert usually applies a local anaesthetic cream to the area to make it less sensitive to pain. Hyaluronic acid is then injected into the lip using a very fine cannula to model the lip. The treatment aims to give the lip more fullness, define the lip edges or combine both options. The amount of hyaluronic acid required varies from patient to patient. However, we take strict care to avoid overcorrection.
Is the dermal filler lip injection painful?
The lips are generally a very sensitive area of the body. In lip augmentation, a very fine needle is used to inject the hyaluronic acid. In addition, the area is first made less sensitive to pain with a local anaesthetic cream so that the treatment is not uncomfortable or painful for you. As soon as the anaesthetic wears off, the lips may tingling or even hurt slightly. As the sensation of pain is very individual, it is not possible to say in advance exactly how strong the pain will be. It is usually very mild, but if you feel very uncomfortable, you can always contact us so that we can recommend a suitable painkiller.
How long does it take for lip fillers to show results?
After the injection the lips are often a little swollen. Therefore, the result immediately after treatment does not reflect the final result. The swelling usually disappears spontaneously within a few days.
It is therefore important to check the result, after about two weeks to make, if needed, any small corrections. With schön skincare this is included in the price, therefore there are no extra costs.
What exactly is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is an essential component of human connective tissue and serves, among other things, as a “lubricant” for the joints. Thanks to its ability to bind a lot of water, it provides the skin, for example, with sufficient fluid and thus has a positive effect on the skin’s firmness and elasticity. As the body’s own production of hyaluronic acid decreases over time, the firmness of the skin is also reduced, resulting in wrinkles and loss of volume. Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid can fill and smooth out the unpleasant unevenness. In addition, hyaluronic acid can not only increase the volume of the lips, but can also be used to define individual areas in the area of the cheeks and temples, for example.

Are hyaluronic acid lip fillers safe?
Lip augmentation is generally an extremely low-risk treatment with few side effects. As it is performed without an operation, the risks of surgery are also eliminated. Mild discomfort is still possible. These include redness, swelling and haematomas at the injection sites. The area may also be temporarily more sensitive or even numb. After a few days, the complaints usually subside on their own. Serious complications are reduced to a minimum when treated by a specially trained and experienced doctor. If an intolerance to hyaluronic acid is suspected, a test can be carried out before the lip augmentation.
How long do lip fillers last?
As the hyaluronic acid is broken down again by the body, the result of a non-surgical lip augmentation in Hamburg is not permanent. The effect usually lasts for six to twelve months, this can vary from patient to patient. If desired, li filler can be repeated to refresh the results or add more volume.
Are there permanent lip fillers for a permanent result?
There are filling substances that have a silicone content and can achieve permanent lip augmentation. However, for the safety of our patients we do not use these fillers in our practice. Since permanent substances remain in the tissue, there is still a risk of complications and tissue changes even after a few years. For this reason, we at schön skincare use only natural, absorbable fillers from certified manufacturers.
What can you not do after lip fillers?
Lip augmentation takes place on an outpatient basis, so you can leave the practice after the treatment. There are usually no restrictions, but you should refrain from doing sports for about two days afterwards. You can actively support the healing process by cooling your lips regularly. In doing so, make sure that the cooling pad is not too cold. Especially if the area is still slightly numb, too much cooling could damage the skin. It is best to use a damp cloth or wrap a cooling pad in some fabric before placing it on the treated area.
How long does it take for your lips to heal after injections?
After the lip augmentation, most patients can go back to socialising very quickly. Small swellings and haematomas may remain visible for a few days. Often no symptoms are visible after about two days. In some patients, small bruises remain at the injection sites for up to ten days. These spots are usually harmless and can be covered with make-up if desired, once the area has healed. If you are unsure about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
