Vampire lift, Dracula lifting or PRP (platelet-rich plasma therapy
It is a natural treatment that uses platelets (thrombocytes) from your own blood. These activated platelets release at least 7 different growth factors that promote the natural healing process of the skin and hair follicles.
How does vampire lifting work?
During treatment with PRP therapy, a small amount of blood is taken into a sterile tube, just like a standard blood test. The tube containing your blood is placed in a centrifuge and spun to separate the plasma and platelets from the other blood components.
After a few minutes, the PRP layer is removed from the same tube and reinserted into the body at the site to be treated. The doctor injects the PRP with a special injection device (Mesogun), which allows painless injection without any risk of haematomas or other irritation.
Already after the first treatment, the skin is rejuvenated, revitalised and rehydrated. To achieve the full effect of this revolutionary treatment method, a treatment series of 3-4 treatments is recommended.
What can be treated with the vampire lift?
In principle, any area can be treated with vampire lifting. For better understanding we have divided the body into 3 categories:
FACE: Whether you want to treat crow’s feet, frown lines or sagging skin, vampire lifting is an effective way to restore the youthful appearance of your skin. This innovative facial rejuvenating treatment stimulates your own collagen production, helping your skin to look smooth and plump.
BODY: With PRP we can treat stretch marks, cellulite and scarring on the body. By stimulating and accelerating the body’s natural healing process, PRP therapy rejuvenates and renews the skin.
HAIR: PRP therapy can be used to treat one of the most frustrating and common problems of men and women, hair loss. During treatment, the natural growth factors in the blood are extracted and reintroduced into the scalp to nourish the hair follicle. This great, minimally invasive procedure promotes healthy hair growth so you can have fuller, thicker hair.
Is the vampire lift, Dracula lift or PRP the same in all clinics?
No, even if your own blood is used to obtain the plasma, there are big differences in the sets used for extracting and preparing the platelets. As specialists in PRP, we use the best available kits – the Ycellbio PRP system achieves the highest concentration of platelets. The Ycellbio system is able to achieve platelet concentrations up to 18 times the initial value, while the leucocyte concentration is adjustable.
Does the vampire lift hurt?
Face: Minimal pain, if necessary a local anaesthetic cream can be used to numb the face.
scalp: Mild / Moderate pain. Scalp injections can be painful, but we use certain tools to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you. Each person has a different pain threshold, so the level of pain experienced will be different.
How many and how often are these therapies (PRP) required?
While the response to treatment varies, most people need 3-4 sessions. The individual sessions are about 4-6 weeks apart. The number of treatments is unlimited. We will determine an individual treatment plan with you after assessing your skin/hair problems.
What results can I expect from the vampire lift (PRP)?
An improvement in skin texture and tone can be felt within three weeks. Complete collagen regeneration takes up to three months. The reduction of hair loss is noticeable within 8 weeks. In most cases, hair growth occurs 3-6 months after the last treatment. The results vary from person to person – during the consultation, our doctor will examine your problem area and, taking into account your medical history, the expected results for your case will be thoroughly discussed.
Are there possible side effects of PRP treatment?
Slight to moderate swelling and redness for 12-48 hours. Small bruises may also occur. How long the bruising lasts varies from person to person – in some cases it may take longer for the side effects to subside.
How long do the results of the vampire lift last?
The treatment results vary. However, for most patients, the results last up to 24 months after completing a course of 4 treatments. Refresher treatments every 6-9 months are advised in the maintenance of the results.
